Meet The Host

Frank Greco is The Travel Guy. He has been a world traveler through air, across water, rails and roads for many years. He was only bitten once, but and The Travel Guy has never shaken the travel bug, the most contagious bug in the world of which the only known cure is to travel. Not one to just lounge-around, he likes to explore the beauty and culture while capturing the imagery of each location he visits.

An Extraordinary Culinary Experience

Gourmet Escapes is a destination cooking show. The first two seasons feature Massimo Capra still students of great food who connect with chefs that have prepared meals for royalty, at elite Michelin star restaurants or whose who simply love to cook. It’s all about exploring food at its basic level, where it is harvested and creating amazing dishes with it.

Each episode Massimo travels the world in search of fine food, visiting local merchants, purveyors and farms, and always taking time to explore the city or region to give viewers a taste of the area both in sites and in food. When cooking day arrives, both chefs meet in the kitchen to prep and discuss what they will cook with the ingredients they have gathered. With no kitchen staff to help, it is just the two of them, where lots of laughs ensue.

Season 3 unveils a variety of North American chefs to travel the world adding a new flair, each exploring and uncovering new culinary dishes.

Meet The Host

Chef Massimo Capra is a Master Chef, Restaurant Owner and Consultant. He is an award winning Author of 3 Chefs-The Kitchen Men and One Pot Italian Cooking, Television Personality Massimo is the host of his own show Gourmet Escapes and is a regular guest expert on the long running Cityline, Chef Host on the hit series Restaurant Makeover and is a Judge on the hit show Chopped Canada for The Food Network.

The series follows their day-to-day activities, the customer requests, the misunderstandings, some of the language barriers, their interactions and their ingenuity when they are running behind schedule. Giovanni, never says no and agrees to tight timelines all the while Leonardo is hesitant and skeptical to take on the unusual. The two form a funny dynamic duo.

The Mangia Cake Boys consists of 13 episodes (Season 1) each 30 minutes in length. Filmed in High Definition.

Meet The Host

Giovanni (Gio) and Leonardo (Leo) operate Criveller Cakes a very successful bakery/patisserie in Niagara Falls, the tourist capital of North America. The men have become famous for their customized cakes, unique desserts and their one of a kind chocolate garnishes and creations.

It is coincidental that they share the same last name, they are not related. In fact, they had no formal training in running a bakery. Gio was a pizza maker and Leo studied to become a nurse. Together they thought running a bakery would be less work – boy, were they wrong!
